Summary:
In the automotive industry, many critical issues—such as enhancing performance, conserving energy, reducing costs, and minimizing pollution—are inextricably linked to the central challenge of lightening the overall vehicle weight. One of the most effective approaches to achieving this goal is material substitution, with aluminum alloy castings (produced by various casting methods) serving as an excellent alternative to cast iron components. Among the diverse range of aluminum alloy castings, die‑cast parts occupy a pivotal position. Today, in developed automotive markets, key components such as engine blocks, transmission housings, straight‑bore intake manifolds, wheel hubs, and power‑steering gear housings have widely adopted aluminum alloy die castings. In recent years, China has witnessed rapid growth in automobile production and a clear trend toward vehicle lightweighting, leading to a steady increase in the use of light‑alloy die castings in automotive component manufacturing. Compared with advanced economies, there remains substantial room for expanding the application of aluminum alloy die castings among domestic auto parts manufacturers. As domestic emissions and environmental standards continue to tighten and aluminum alloy die‑casting technologies advance, it is anticipated that an increasing number of automotive components in China will be produced using aluminum alloy die‑casting processes.

Die-Casting Mold Management and Maintenance Specifications
Strengthen die‑casting mold management to ensure proper maintenance, guarantee smooth production and product quality, extend mold service life, and reduce costs. Die‑casting mold maintenance personnel must conduct regular inspections—once per month—and maintain detailed records. Additionally, thorough documentation is required whenever cores are repaired or replaced.
Aluminum melt pretreatment: The melting temperature is strictly controlled at 680–720°C, and rotary degassing combined with a 40–60 mesh ceramic filter is employed to remove gases and inclusions from the molten aluminum, thereby reducing its gas content.
